MATTRESS CLEANING

E-mail Print PDF

Modern day features of homes, such as double glazing and central heating, contribute to an increase in dust mites, bacteria, viruses and other filthy residues found in our beds. It follows that there has also been an increase in health problems such as Asthma, Eczema, Hay Fever and allergies. A mattress absorbs a lot of moisture (an adult perspires and breathes out around 1/2 litre of moisture each night, and sheds around half a kilo of dead skin per year) which makes it a favourite environment for the house dust mite. We should not assume that a sheet can protect us from dirt and dust mites that are made up of micro particles (1 - 20 microns). Dirt and dust mite excrement are churned up every time we move in bed, with the mattress blowing dirt into the mouth, nose, and eyes as well as onto the skin.

Therefore it is important to clean mattresses regularly. Previous generations would have regularly hauled their mattresses outside on a cold day and beat them for half an hour or more. The dust mites were killed by the cold, and their excrement and other contaminants were removed by beating the mattresses. But the pressures we face today means that we do not have time to do this anymore.

United Cleaners' cleaning service is to ensure that your mattress remains free from contaminants (dust mites, bacteria, viruses, fungal spores) and continues to provide you with a safe and healthy sleeping environment during it is lifespan.

Don't put it off any longer, contact United Cleaners and get the best quality of service when it comes to mattress cleaning.
